I’m No Financial Expert

The Packers released their financial reports today.  I’m not an expert on money and such so I can’t tell you exactly what this all means.  But I have three sources that shall do their best:

Packers’ Finances on Solid Ground (Packers.com)

Packers continue to make profits (JSOnline.com)

Packers fret about NFL’s financial future after clearing only $21.4M (SI.com)

From reading this, the expiring CBA does have a great impact on the Packers.  Now, as I said before, I don’t know anything about money, but it appears that the cost of players is outstripping the revenue of the stadiums for multiple teams in the NFL.  This is going to have an interesting impact on negotiations in the future.  If smaller market teams like the Packers run out of money to pay players, what will happen next?  The commissioner and other owners will really need to take a look at this and the possibility of these scenarios.

Acme Packing Company over on SBNation did a good job of “Cooking the Packers’ Books.”
