I'm a Broken Record

I really hate do this to you.  All of you, I really mean it, but something has to be said for everyone.  I’ve already written two blogs on this in the last two days (Hey ESPN, STFU! and ESPN Continues to Slay Me), but this definitely takes the cake.  The above image is the homepage for ESPN.com’s NFL section at around 12:20 AM ET on July 7, 2008.  Yeah.  The Brett Favre-lovefest continues.

ESPN, really, what is your problem?  You have 11 (that’s ELEVEN) links devoted to Favre, including the ones mentioned before in Hey ESPN, STFU!  Oh look, they were even kind enough to go through all 32 teams and to discuss where he would be the best fit.  Oh look, they even took the time to connect him to Mark Martin in the Sprint Cup and compare the two.  Seriously guys, get a life.

I want this to be the last time I write about ESPN and Brett Favre on here.

Give the reins to Aaron Rodgers.

I totally agree with you. I wish ESPN would just shut up. Isn’t there anything else going on in sports that a rumor is a top story. There hasn’t even been any real proof to this rumor. I don’t know why they just can’t wait to see if anything even comes out of this. If Brett does decide to come back then there is a story and they should report about it but how far has ESPN fallen that they need to resort to spending over half their time talking about a rumor that has a decent to good chance of never coming true. Boy do I hate ESPN sometimes.
