Another key cog in the Packers defense has succumbed to injury. Versatile defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins is done for the year with a torn pectoral muscle. Jenkins was injured in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 30-21 loss at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when he attempted to sack quarterback Brian Griese. He went down, left the game, and never returned.
The Packers have signed three-year veteran Kenneth Pettway in an attempt to add depth to the defensive line. Pettway is best known for being with former Jacksonville Jaguars teammate Richard Collier the night he was shot. Pettway has played 17 games the last two seasons.
The defensive line will need to be ready for Sunday, when the Michael Turner show and the Atlanta Falcons come up to Lambeau.
A side note, I’ll be out of the office tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday, so Pack blogging will be back Saturday.
