They’re done. The Green Bay Packers season is over, ended by the foot of Kris Brown as time expired in a 24-21 loss to the Houston Texans. The loss dropped the Packers to 5-8 and three games out of the division lead with three to play. The playoff hopes of the Packers died much earlier than expected on a frigid day on Lambeau Field.
In the loss, the Packers were shredded through the air, with Matt Schaub passing for 414 yards. The Packers were shredded on the ground, with Steve Slaton rushing for over 100 yards. In the end, the Packers were 5-8 and missing the playoffs.
The best case scenario for the Packers currently would be winning out to an 8-8 record, gathering some momentum that could hopefully be carried into 2009.
