To HammerNH, I believe it was (is) the Amish and the Mennonites who shunned, not the Pilgrims. To the rest of you who have expressed fickle feelings regarding Brett Favre, quoting Shakespeare, in Sonnet 116, “Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds, or bends with the remover to remove: O no! it is an ever-fixed mark, that looks on tempests and is never shaken. . .Love’s not Time’s fool. . Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, but bears it out even to the edge of doom. . .” I wish Favre still played for Green Bay, but he doesn’t; he is still my favorite QB of all time, he will always be #4 in green and gold, regardless of the color uniforms his teammates are wearing, and he has earned my love and admiration and respect over the past 16 years for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the love and exuberation for the game which he demonstrates wherever and whenever he plays.

I am a native of New England who has been a die hard Packers fan since 1964.
I have made the ‘pilgrimage’ to Lambeau for 3 games & 1 shareholders meeting. Been there with my best friend (1990), my son (2000) & my daughter (2004).
This year my wife decided she wanted to go.
So we looked at the calendar & picked a game the day the schedule came out – well before #4 was released by the Jets.
Yep – Nov 1st vs the viQueens.
I rooted for (and made excuses for) #4 for his 16 years as a Packer. Lots of great memories there.
So I cannot boo him.
However, he has clearly turned his back on me and all Packers fans.
So when he enters Lambeau in that fairy white & purple jersey, I will stand and turn my back.
The Pilgrims called this ‘shunning’ and is the most appropriate response to this horrible thing #4 is doing.
Packer fans should all do this – return the insult with your back turned.

I’ll be cheering for Brett! Brett has been my favorite player for 16 years and the Packers were my favorite team for 15 years. With that said, I’ll enjoy him kicking the shit out of Ted Thompson and Coach Fata$$!

Once upon a time, Brett was a team player re-doing contracts to keep the team together. The fact that TT asked him to actually committ to either come back or retire so the team could prepare for the upcoming season is nobody’s fault but his (Brett) own devices. BF was a good QB in his day (he regularly demonstrated that he couldn’t win games without a pretty good team surrounding him – unlike say… John Elway) and remember he broke the all time INT record before the TD record. The Queens will be sadly disappointed when he fails to lead them into the promise land. He will lose more games for them than he will win. I look forward to this cry baby getting pasted by Kampman come a cold day up nort this November.

I will be one of the loudest people booing for Brett Favre. Let’s be real… his success was based on several factors but one of them was the Green Bay Packers’ organization. But the bottom line is that everyone in the organization needs to be committed 100% to the team. Brett Favre was and is not ready to do that anymore. He is above the team and I say good bye Brett, thanks for the wonderful memories. But now that he is gone and decides his new commitment is not to a team but rather with the express intention of “sticking it to Ted and the Packers” simply because they do not want someone who is less than 100% committed to Packer football, then I say bring it on… I know who I will be rooting for… Go PACKERS!

I’ll be cheering Favre all the way. Last night’s interview just confirmed for me that Favre is the same guy he’s always been – just in different circumstances.
And it is so obvious he thinks of his time in Green Bay as the best thing that ever happened to him. But he was Ron Wolf’s guy, not TT’s. Now let the man play, give him the applause he deserves, root for your team, but I would be the first to dump beer on anyone booing Favre. Even if the beer is expensive.

I’ll admit I’ll still enjoy watching him play, I just wouldn’t want to watch him play for Minnesota. But still, it’s all the best to him. I don’t really blame TT or MM in the situation. I just feel that it was conflicting views, not just TT’s view.

I too will be cheering for Brett. Not necessarily to beat our Packers but for the great, hall of fame player that he is. I welcome his return to the game that he clearly loves sooo much. I only wish he were still playing for the Packers. I don’t blame his one bit for this fiasco. It was TT and MM that pushed him out in favor of Aaron Rodgers.

I will be ready to watch one of the greatest to play the game this sesaon if it happens..If you are a true Brett Favre Fan you will applaud not boo because its the player we want to watch and since Green Bay moved on so has Brett Favre so look fwd to watching a QB who plays with passion,competivenssand love of the game.Respect the man respect the player .The NFL is better with him and so will be the team.Speedy Recovery !!
