ESPN’s Chris Mortensen has just reported that Brett Favre will sign with the Minnesota Vikings pending the results of a physical:
A source close to Brett Favre said the quarterback, pending a physical, will sign a contract with the Minnesota Vikings for between $10 million to $12 million, according to ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.
Jay Glazer had reported yesterday that many of the Vikings players thought that Favre-to-Minny was a done deal. And it seems like he was right. While everything is a waiting game with Favre, it seems he may actually get to Minnesota. Favre will most likely leap over Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels on the roster and cost John David Booty a spot on the team. And Favre will take Booty’s number 4.
More on this (and some actual Packers news) later.
UPDATE: Favre is on a plane bound for Minnesota and expected to sign a 1-year, $12 million contract.
Hey, I bet you didn’t see this coming! He’s on a plane to St. Paul, Minnesota, as we speak. His own words: “We may know something by dinner.” Just in time for you to throw it up!

A high-placed NFL source said Tuesday morning that the agent for retired quarterback Brett Favre(notes) spent much of Monday calling to check on the details of what would be a one-year, $12 million deal for Favre to join the Minnesota Vikings.
Much, much more to come.
