Running back Ahman Green signed a one-year contract with the Packers. RB Green played seven of his 11 NFL seasons with the Packers from 2000 to 2006. He left signing a free-agent contract with the Houston Texans. Now, he is back with the Packers to share running duties with RB Grant. Green needs 46 yards to eclipse Jim Taylor’s franchise 8,207 rushing record. The Packers cleared room on the roster for Green by putting RB Wynn on IR.
RB Green: ”It’s been a long time coming. It’s been a journey from the time I left in March of ‘07 to right now. With all of that behind me, I’m glad to be home.”
Coach McCarthy: “We really felt that Ahman would upgrade our running back group. Also, like Mark Tauscher, the ability to keep improving your 53-man roster. Both veterans have a lot of experience here. We feel comfortable when the time is right and when needed, they will be productive players for us.”
Can Brent Fullwood be far behind?
