The Green Bay Packers will be wearing the vintage look this Sunday as they take on the San Francisco 49er’s at Lambeau Field. They will be wearing the 1929 throw back jerseys with a few minor modifications.
The navy blue and gold jersey’s have the NFL mandatory name plate added in addition to enlarging the numbers to meet NFL specifications. The bright yellow helmet with the signature “G” logo will be sitting in the locker room as well. The replacement helmet will be a solid brown, with no logo at all.
It’s always a shock to the system for me to see the Packers in anything but green and gold. I sometimes struggle a bit from kick off through the third quarter for it all to sink in. I don’t have that problem with the other NFL teams throw backs, mostly because none of them date back to the 1920’s.
As a Packer fan, I’m going to embrace Throw Back week and indulge in the long and magnificent traditions of the Green Bay Packers history!
