Green Bay beats San Francisco at Lambeau 34-16.
In usual Green Bay Packer fashion, they came out to a slow start. The Packers remained scoreless through the first quarter and to the half way point in Q2. With the 49′ers up by two field goals, Rodgers threw a 57 yard pass to Greg Jennings for a touchdown. Five and half minutes later Kuhn had a one yard run for the second touchdown of the game, making the score 14-6. But with less than 2 minutes in the half, Smith connected with Vernon Davis for a 66 yard TD pass.
The Packers lead 14-13 going into halftime.
With the exception of a field goal in the third quarter, it was all Packers all the time. Rodgers to Driver for a stunning 61 yard TD. Driver ran and juked his way into the end zone breaking at least 5 tackles. The last touch down of the day was a one yard toss to Greg Jennings.
Mason Crosby had a pair of field goals in the 4th quarter to finish up the day.
Although he didn’t score a touchdown, James Starks made his debut and with 18 rushes for a total of 78 yards! This is exciting news for Packer fans, I think we all agree, with Starks being able to move the chains and help us with managing time of possession, we are looking good for a strong post season showing. This running game and taking time off of the clock is what we’ve been missing.
Rodgers ended the day with 298 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Packers now go to 8-4. Green Bay travels to Detroit next week.
