I just finished reading a column with a list of the 10 most stressful occupations – it didn’t include either football players or football bloggers in the list … I wonder why?
As the newly-hired editor recently brought on to bring my “expertise” to lombardiave.com, my goal is to offer a fresh perspective to the website, as well as to draw a crowd.
Though I’m not expecting a mass rush to my blogs, I’m at least going to try to offer something different – a look at football through the eyes of a fan – a fan who looks not only at the x’s and o’s, but at the business of football, the politics of football, and the impact the game has on society.
Sounds boring, you might say?
Well, maybe for some, but if you’re looking for the statistics behind the game, visit a good newspaper website, or better yet go to the Packers official website, www.packers.com, for coverage of the team from that angle.
However, if you’re looking for a personal view of the game, you’re at the right spot.
However, don’t get me wrong, you will find blogs about games, about the players and coaches, about statistics here at lombardiave.com … that is, after all, why football makes billions of dollars each year, isn’t it?
And to get back to stressful occupations … yes, there is a reason football bloggers didn’t make the list … whatever is said here won’t change the world like the actions of an EMT or a stockbroker. Yeah, you may disagree with what I say (and I encourage you to do that now and again), but this is all for fun. In fact, I would say that being a football blogger should probably make the list of least stressful occupations.
In fact, having the opportunity to write on a daily basis about the world champion of their sport is Heavenly. Can you think of anything less stressful than talking about the best of the best?
The only thing I could think that would be better is having the opportunity to write about back-to-back championships.
That’s something that all of Packers Nation should expect this season … anything less would be a huge disappointment.
A goal of this blog will be to inform, to enlighten and to attempt to unlock information that may not be found on any other site … to keep you coming back for more.
I look forward to suggestions and ideas from readers. Should you have any questions, I will attempt to answer them.
Should you think you might want to contribute to this site as a regular blogger (remember, it’s not as dangerous as many think), let me know and we can talk.
It’s going to be a fun ride this year. It could be one of the best seasons ever and I’m looking forward to not only covering it from this venue, but to hearing from you (the good and the bad) … let’s enjoy the view from the mountaintop while we can (despite the lockout) and look forward to another successful season.
So to get the ball rolling, I invite you back here on a daily basis to hear what’s on my mind.
