I am loyal to my team and expect loyalty from our players, even the ones who move on (Al Harris for example). I get to hear from my own husband who is a Favre fan on a consistent basis that I need to just really get over myself. I think with time it will come. Brett isn't the exception to the rule, he is the rule. He is a professional athlete and an ego maniac. It's all about making money and trying to win another trophy. He wanted to be the one to officially decide when he was done playing. Do you honestly believe professional athletes have loyalty for their teams? That almost never happens anymore…they have sports agents to make sure that kind of thing doesn’t happen. Professional sports has become a business, look at free agency across the board…it’s ridiculous. I understand the hurt feelings, but fans should try to be more realistic.
