There's a belief in football that a player should never lose his job due to an injury.I don't believe that statement was meant to cover all positions as some/many would think or want.

The most apparent and likely position to hold true that adage would be the QB but, unless he is of a top ten status in the league, than attaching a rear view mirror to your helmet is encouraged.

Does Grant honestly welcome competition for a job he got injured doing quite well for the Packers?I can't say yes or no to either so I'm going to just fence sit at the 50/50 yard line.

However,if we were to consider playing in the NFL as a starter or a back-up as to real life work places, then the flaw in honesty is revealed. In no way does a person willingly take a backseat for the good of the company unless you are guaranteed a nice severance or you can stay at your desk with less workload and same pay, which to my knowledge is/has/never be offered to a player in the NFL.Be assured that both business worlds will wield the axe,ASAP.

I said at another site, that Grant may need to show proof of this gallant offering by having to swallow a smaller paycheck for the good of the team.I now offer him a glass of water to insure it can go down as easy as he seemingly
spoke the words.

Cheers and down the hatch, and best of luck in the competition and to not having to eat your words.
