Though Aaron Rodgers tweeted (“I definitely haven’t been contacted about anything in gb this weekend for the record …”) just before midnight that he knew nothing about it, Josh Sanchez of NFL Spin Zone was citing ProFootballTalk.com’s Mike Florio and Packers beat writer Jason Wilde saying they have confirmation from team sources that Packers players are being told the doors to Packers facilities would be open Friday and a team meeting was being set up for Saturday. Carolina Panthers tight end Jeremy Shockey also publicly announced that a deal was set to be completed Thursday and that team facilities throughout the league would be opening Friday.
However, before anyone gets too excited, let’s make sure the ink dries.
