Brett Favre is already laying an imprint on the NFL season and we haven’t even gotten the CBA issue resolved yet.
Reports out of Philadelphia yesterday indicated the Eagles were expressing interest in bringing Brett Favre into camp as a backup to Michael Vick if they are able to trade Kevin Kolb.
Now today Jay Glazer is saying he’s got two unnamed Eagles sources saying the team has no interest whatsoever in Favre.
That’s probably a good thing for the Eagles and the NFL if that’s the case, but at this point it’s difficult to determine truth from fiction on this one.
The Eagles may be trying to protect their interests in dealing Kolb because any takers such as the Cardinals may back away or at least reduce the trade value if they think the Eagles are already thinking about signing Favre.
With that said, it’s all very unclear at this moment whether this is a deal that will come to fruition.
If you believe in the power of prayer, now may be the time to get the rosary out and talk to God about telling Favre to stay on the farm.
We here at lombardiave.com would certainly hate to see Favre standing on the sidelines with a clipboard, but even worse would be to see the Giants and Cowboy defenses jumping all over the old man.
