Hutchinson gives ‘good news’

Though it takes a Viking to bring good news, that’s OK because that’s just what Steve Hutchinson has done.

According to published reports, the players association’s team rep told Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune today that “I think there will be some good news coming out tomorrow.”

That is indeed a good indication that those players on planes today to Washington, D.C., will have good news to report as they are expected to recommend passage of the CBA – with tweaks, of course.

It’s commonly believed that if the executive committee recommends approval, the rest of the membership will follow suit.

Hutchinson’s statement also flies in the face of Chad Ochocinco’s negative tweet today: “Can we not seeing [sic] what the media is doing? Hype up a deal will be done n when it’s not it further angers the public perception of players!!!!”

If Hutchinson’s perspective is accurate, it’s clear nobody’s talking to Chad … Which isn’t surprising.
