Though Miami Dolphins coach Tony Sparano wouldn’t rule out to the press the team’s possible interest in Brett Favre, a source within the team said there is no interest in the retired quarterback.
This information is according to Pro Football Talk.
Here’s what Mike Florio had to say about the entire issue … and he’s right:
So why didn’t Sparano say so? Salguero says it’s part of the team’s habit of giving the media nothing.
Except, of course, when giving the media nothing creates an unexpected storm of something other than snow and then the team needs to leak its true intentions to the media anonymously.
Wouldn’t life be a lot easier if these ultra-secretive coaches trusted themselves to know the difference between the things they should say without giving up any strategic advantage, and the things they shouldn’t?
