Eruption of Mt. Holmgren

Now this is an embarrassment – Cleveland Browns head honcho and former Packers coach Mike Holmgren must have erupted with the news that punter Reggie Hodges was lost for the season just two days into training camp. It seems the punter who was signed to an extension just last year tore his Achilles tendon.

So, answer me this – how does a team lose its punter during the first couple of days of training camp?

Either the team’s stretching sessions are woefully inadequate or the punter was being worked way too hard.

It just seems like a really strange way for the Browns to start the year.

For the sake of the team and coaching staff, let’s hope something as freakish as this doesn’t happen again … I would hate to see the eruption from Mt. Holmgren …

I don’t think he’s losing sleep about a punter. Those guys are a dime a dozen. As for stretching and conditioning, I think this falls more into freak occurrence.
