The defense will be fine. If memory serves me correctly, the defense looked similar to this last year in the preseason. I think with there being few positions up for grabs on defense Capers is not going give anyone a look at what he has up his sleeve for this year.

The offense worries me more. I agree with everyone's point about Sherrod. He should stay at LT as a backup. Clifton will miss a couple games this season, so he'll get a shot to start. The rest of the offense should find their stride soon.

There's an article at jsonline today - I actually just read the headline because it's a story in the website's paid section, which I can't afford - anyway the lede says that the defensive line is going to be just fine without Jenkins. That I can believe and once the season starts I'm sure there are going to be new twists that get thrown in, so I'm really not that concerned. Just like last year, if the offense can score three TDs per game, the Packers are going to win. The defense usually gives up a couple of scores and a field goal, so it's going to be the offense that carries the day again anyway.
As an aside, just wondering if you might reconsider writing for the site ... you've got a good insight and I need more writers. I'm finding this really difficult to do by myself! Send me an email at rayr13000@gmail.com.

I'm more optimistic for the offense as I can't help but feel there is no plan devised for it but,as with moving the OL men(Sherrod and Lang)plays are being called to instigate a defense toward them for evaluation. However, with that,we've seen enough and hope MM has also.

A point of note is,when we are in no-huddle,Rodgers is doing his GAME plan and taking the attention off the LT and LG forcing them and the defense into recess with great success.

I'm trying to see the bright side of things, but also share your pessimism. They definitely need to cut the Sherrod rxperiment at guard short and plant Lang there for good - I agree with that. I'm also concerned that the offense only looks good in the no huddle. Maybe once they establish the gground game that will change. No question there is lots to do in a short time. Our only saving grace is that everyone is in the same boat.

OK,we all know how deep our offense is especially at WR,and it's obvious what needs to be done on the OL...leave Sherrod to learn only the LT and Lang to consecrate his marriage to the LG spot.

The defense is a little different or a lot different in terms of musical chairs.I understand Capers using what is known as a vanilla scheme in these first two games but,the sense and picture I'm seeing isn't as pretty a one we should be and rightfully expect to be looking much better even with the lack of 1st string participation.
What I am seeing is the inability for this defense at this juncture to perform well in a vanilla defense much less the one that will be installed moreso next week with the 1st and 2nds for a good part of the game since week four we'll be lucky to see a starter suited up.
Do I sound somewhat pessimistic... perhaps, but with some reason I hope some will agree on.
