It surely won’t go down as “papergate” for the Green Bay Packers, nor does it even seem to be a case of stolen secrets.
Today, city crews were called to an area where they were requested to pick up trash that had apparently blown from Waste Management trucks … As it turns out, it was papers that had come from the Green Bay Packers.
However, none of the papers could be considered top secret and were certainly not any from the team’s playbook.
Packers spokesman Jason Wahlers said the papers did indeed come from the Packers, but it wasn’t anything of use to the Packers’ opponents.
“It’s not that big of a deal,” Wahlers said. “We wouldn’t have put it in recycling if we were concerned about it.”
It’s our hope that Packers officials are smart enough to shred the trash that really matters.
