Hey Packers fans … if you’re going to be anywhere near Wausau or Marshfield next week you may want to take some time to go out and visit with Chester Marcol.
You should … he is one of the most prolific kickers in Packers history and he will be promoting his new book, “Alive and Kicking,” that describes his meteoric rise in Packers lore as well as his quick demise because of addiction.
He will be promoting his new book that was written with the help of one of my favorite writers, Gary D’Amato and also has a foreword by Lynn Dickey.

The Green Bay Packers Hall of Famer will be signing copies of his just released autobiography, “Alive and Kicking” (KCI Sports Publishing, $24.95). Marcol recounts the hurdles he overcame to become a star in the NFL, and shares a no-holds-barred look at his alcohol and substance abuse, which eventually cost him his football career and his family. For the first time, Marcol discusses his 1986 suicide attempt that continues to affect him and his health.
A member of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame, Marcol lives in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula where he works as a drug abuse counselor and fights his daily battle to stay clean and sober.
