NFL Mocks looks at Packers NFL Draft prospects 2012

It’s early … it’s WAAAAY early, but for some, like NFL Mocks, it’s never too early to start thinking about the NFL draft.

With the Packers undefeated, probably the furthest thing from Packers fans’ minds is the draft that comes up in April 2012.

Well, it’s certainly not too early for Fansided’s NFL Mocks, a site that specializes in the NFL Draft, mock draft database, scouting reports and fantasy football.

In fact, they haven’t forgotten about the Packers. Recently, they put together a seven round mock draft for the Packers.

It’s something to think about and look forward to as the Packers get ready to go 10-0 today at Lambeau Field vs. the Tampa Bay Bucs and make their run toward the post season.

If you’re going to post a 7 round draft five months out why not get ballsy and include what you think are the total picks the Packers are likely to have. W/ the Packers losing 7 FA’s (Jenkins, Colledge, Jackson, Hall, Spitz, Bigby, and Smith) I think they will get the max complement of 4 comp picks. I’d be happy if they would get two 5th’s and two 6th’s. Plus they will likely get a 7th round pick for the conditional trade of Caleb Schlauderaff to the Jets for a total of 12 picks—1-2-3-4-5-5-5-6-6-6-7-7. What would your mock look like w/ these picks?

BTW—Are the players in your mock “Packer People”…good character, football players instead of pure athletes, decent football IQ, minimal injury history?

That’s a great point, BubbaOne. I’ll forward your message to the guys at Mocks and see what the think. I also like your addition of the character issue.
