This is the best place for a Packers game ... Don't think so? Tell us your favorite venue.

Can’t be at Lambeau? Check out this venue

Obviously, Lambeau Field is the best place in the world to watch a Packers game and second would be any other team’s stadium when the Packers are visiting. However, if you cannot personally attend a game, then what? Watch the game in your own living room, go to a local bar, piss off the Bears fans by crashing an Old Chicago restaurant?

I humbly submit that if you cannot be in Lambeau (or in an opposing team’s stadium for an away game) then the best place to watch a Packers game is at the Mission Theater and Pub in Portland, Oregon (

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the Mission Theater and Pub was originally built as a church, but now lives as the perfect embodiment of theater and pub. The pews have been replaced by tables. The pulpit replaced by a movie screen. Pass the collection plate replaced by pass the mustard. When the Packers play on Monday nights the congregation comes attired in their finest jerseys and foam cheese ornaments.

Truly it is a scene to behold.

One waitress laughed when asked if the Mission was as busy when other teams play.

“Ha! The closest would be Steelers games, but that’s half the crowd compared to the Packers.”

Microbrew beer, burgers, sour cream fries, and of course… The game on the big screen! What more could one ask for? By the way, the Mission pretty much rocks as an indie movie theater venue as well.

Disagree? What’s your favorite place to watch the Packers?
