Injuries - Packers coaches will be faced with questions about when starters should be pulled

Greg Jennings’ knee sprain is indicative of something bigger the Packers face in their final three games of the season.

The questions is this: How long do you play starters in blowout games such as Sunday’s 46-16 dismantling of the Oakland Raiders at Lambeau Field? Injuries could play a big role down the stretch as to who should and should not play.

With a 31-0 lead at the half, should head coach Mike McCarthy have started pulling the plug on the majority of his starting lineup and giving the reserves some valuable playing time?

Would the 31-point lead have been in danger if McCarthy had pulled Aaron Rodgers, Greg Jennings, Donald Driver, Jermichael Finley, and other key members of the offense? And what about the defense?

These are questions that should be facing McCarthy this week as we all look toward the final three games and the possibility of preserving an unbeaten season.

The hope is that Jennings’ twisted knee is a slight injury. We’ll know more today when McCarthy gives details at his afternoon presser.
