Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola has been around long enough that you might think he would have a better handle on how to head into an NFL stadium, especially when that stadium is Lambeau Field.
Apparently he hasn’t figured out that the fans of the Green Bay Packers are among the league’s most knowledgeable, dedicated and devoted to their team.
Yes, they wear things like cheese heads and take their shirts off to enjoy the game … and it doesn’t matter if it’s a preseason game in August or the final game of the regular season in January.
So, it’s awfully unusual that Raiola would go on record with this statement: “It looks like they live a simple life. They love the Pack and that’s pretty much it.”
Yes, Mr. Raiola, we do love the Packers, but we’re a little more sophisticated than you might think.
Gosh, there might be lawyers, doctors and teachers in the stands. There may even be rocket scientists, economists, and philosophers enjoying the game in the wide open air of Lambeau Field.
I can guarantee this … that these fans are far from simple and the team they follow is far from incompetent.
Sometimes stupid people say stupid things.
No, I take that back. Stupid people always say stupid things.
I guess I would have to say that Mr. Raiola isn’t too smart.
