Protesting SOPA and PIPA

This is a screen shot of Wikipedia's page today. The website has gone black in protest of SOPA and PIPA.

If you have been living under a rock, you might not know about The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and its Senate companion, the Protect IP Act (PIPA).

It’s proposed legislation that would basically give the government the power to shut down Internet sites they feel are violating copyright laws. While we agree that copyright infringement is an important issue, we, like so many others who live on the Internet, feel this legislation goes to far in curtailing the First Amendment to our Constitution.

Because of that, you will see that the logo on this site and for all sites, have a black label with the statement “Stop Censorship.”

This is our statement in protest of the proposed legislation.
