Running Back Keith Woodside Traded to Dallas
Mike Holmgren April 29, 1992 - Keith Woodside, the Packers’ second-leading rusher in 1991, is traded to the Dallas Cowboys for an undisclosed 1993 draft choice. Though listed as a halfback, Woodside often lined up on the line of scrimmage as a third receiver in former coach Lindy Infante’s offense. New coach Mike Holmgren determines Woodside is not a natural fit for his two-back system, which leads to the Packers shopping Woodside. “If you’re asking me what prompted the deal, truly in the final analysis, he was more a pass receiver than a runner,” Packers General Manager Ron Wolf says.
