Aaron Rodgers is inching toward a new contract. Will the Packers make him a team member for life? Raymond T. Rivard photograph

With today’s story about Aaron Rodgers wanting to be a Packer for life, do you feel the franchise will work this season toward extending the MVP’s contract to include long-term provisions that will essentially make him a Packer for life?

That’s the question in today’s poll.

Many things will have to be considered by the Packers if they do so. Will Rodgers play at least another five years? Do they risk the possibility that Rodgers could be injured seriously and because of it could be forced into retirement? Does the team set a precedent that others (Clay Matthews, Greg Jennings, Jordy Nelson) may also want?

Those are some heady questions the franchise will have to answer as they inch toward the day when Rodgers is due a new contract.

Tell us how you feel.
