Sometimes being a member of the media has its perks, especially when it comes to being at the epicenter of Packers Nation.
Such was the case Sunday when I spent the afternoon at Lambeau Field photographing the team as they hosted North Division rival Minnesota Vikings. The opportunity not only allows one to walk next to the inactive Donald Driver, Clay Matthews and Charles Woodson, but to watch closeup as Aaron Rodgers hits Randall Cobb over the middle on a final and defining drive that ends with a Mason Crosby field goal to seal the Packers win.
Some other highlights included watching Ed Hochuli practice his refereeing craft, standing next to former Packers receiver Antonio Freeman and his young son as he tries to get his camera to work and then climbing the steps back up to the media room inside the bowels of Lambeau Field as Troy Aikman and Joe Buck descend from their box talking about the Playoffs.
All this took place on the hallowed grounds once walked by greats like Lombardi, Starr, Adderley, Favre, White and Holmgren.
Do I feel lucky. Absolutely. It’s a privilege that few are accorded and I would be remiss not to thank those within the organization who make it all possible.
And because of that, I have posted a sampling of those photos taken on our Facebook page. Click on over to the site and enjoy.
