‘Hey Donald Driver’ is a video worth watching

Donald Driver watches the clock run out on the Packers and on his career.

We’ve all seen so many tribute videos to the one and only retired Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver, that we’re refreshed to see this one that comes from Peter Leidy.

His music track, recorded at DNA Music Labs on Feb. 6, 2013, the same day Driver formally retired, backs a video photo slide show that I found not only entertaining, but funny and touching.

His video, “Hey Donald Driver,” is based on the Plain White T’s “Hey There Delilah.”

As I was watching, I happened to recognize a couple of my own photographs that showed up … the first is of Driver in the huddle at the 15-second mark and the other appears during the final frames of the video … the lasting image of Driver’s back that I shot as he watched the clock tick down on the Packers loss to the 49ers in the first game of the 2012 season.

I love that photo. It shows Driver by himself watching his season and career slowly fade away … as does the photo at the end of this video. A fitting conclusion to the video and the great Donald Driver’s time in Green Bay.

Check out the video below. You won’t be disappointed.
