Yesterday, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com raised the collective eyebrows of fans across the world when he mentioned the Green Bay Packers were still considering using the franchise tag on wide receiver Greg Jennings.

Here’s his tweet:

Well, as you can guess, it caught everyone by surprise. Yes, most Packers fans and experts did indeed feel the ship had sailed and Jennings was bound four South Beach, Fla., Minnesota, or some other distant NFL land. Oh sure, there was mumblings here and there about the possibility of the Packers using the franchise tag, but nobody took it seriously. Until yesterday.
