The Green Bay Packers today decided not slap the franchise tag on Greg Jennings, thus clearing the way for the longtime Packer to pursue the free agency market. Jennings put his home up for sale last month in preparation for this day, despite the rumors that got started a couple of weeks ago that Packers brass were still considering using the franchise tag on Jennings.
Needless to say, when the news broke about Jennings not being franchised, Twitter came alive with comments about Jennings, the Packers and both the team’s and Jennings’ futures.
I took a few minutes to compile some of those tweets from among my Twitter friends.
