Could the Packers have an interest in Cliff Avril?

Today, the report that as many as four teams have expressed interest in the Detroit Lions’ DE Cliff Avril.
Could the Green Bay Packers be one of those teams? While the likelihood is minimum … well Ok, probably nil, it is interesting because Avril is a pure 3-4 defensive lineman … not a 4-3 player as he was in Detroit.
Though no team names are being mentioned, most rumored are the Cleveland Browns because Avril has connections there.
I just bring it forward because of the 3-4 connection and the fact that the Packers have been searching for a defensive lineman through free agency.
You already know they’ve brought in former New York Giant Chris Canty and the name of Cullen Jenkins has been bantered about for the past couple of weeks.
There is a downside to Avril, too. Here’s what they said about him at profootballtalk.com: “But here’s the reality. The best defensive ends in the 4-3 make more than the best linebackers in the 3-4. So if Avril is going to become a linebacker in the 3-4, teams will have to be creative.”
So, that’s that … just trying to keep the stove hot …

If the chances of Avril coming to the Packers are nil, why write the stupid article?

Sorry you think it’s stupid, Bill.

TT isn’t a free agency GM but we have to strike now and give A-Rod a shot at a second ring. S-jax is a sure bet and Avril is worth the gamble. 2 holes filled then work on signing the big 3
