The Green Bay Packers and every other team in the National Football League have started the official kickoff to the league season with specific needs.
Many of those teams have attempted to deal with their needs through the free agent route, but not the Packers. As has been the case in years past, it’s the draft where they focus. Whether it’s running back, offensive line, safety, linebacker – whatever the position – it looks as though Packers GM Ted Thompson is committed to finding those guys through the draft.
But if you’re looking not only at the Packers, but are interested in finding out what NFC North Division rivals Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions need to fill holes on their team, you might want to take a look at the spiffy infographic put together by fanspeak below. It’s easy to read, compact and even printable if you want to have a copy handy for the upcoming draft days.
It’s worth a peek as we continue to evaluate how teams will proceed through the rest of free agency and into the draft. Will the Steelers commit to Ahmad Bradshaw and fill that need at running back? Will the Packers try to hone in on Matt Elam at safety or might they try to bolster their offensive line by picking Barrett Jones with one of their first couple of picks.
Yes, it’s all a guessing game, but I sure is a fun one.
