We wait for the next news about Aaron Rodgers. Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers watch and other hump day highlights

This past week for Green Bay Packers fans has been one of waiting – anticipating a couple of things: the NFL Draft and the announcement that the team has made the biggest signing of all during the free agency period – that of Aaron Rodgers.

We continue to wait. While teams continue to sign lesser-known free agents, while quarterbacks play musical chairs around the league, while franchises (Miami and Carolina) fight for new stadiums, we wait for Ted Thompson to emerge from the bowels of Lambeau Field to begin the process of the draft and signing undrafted free agents and for Rodgers to emerge with that shiny new deal.

That’s our lot in life as fans of the Packers … and, well … I guess that’s what we’re left with.

The Milwaukee Brewers spring anew with a 1 percent chance of making the playoffs – according to the experts at ESPN, while we wait for any scrap, any morsel of Packers news. We’ll continue to debate and speculate on that first round pick afforded to the Packers – will Thompson select a tight end? A safety? A defensive lineman? An offensive lineman? Or maybe he will just trade the first round pick for a couple of more in this talent-rich-filled draft.

Perhaps.

But in the meantime, here are some of the top stories I found for our hump day highlights.

As you wait, you might take a gander at what’s being said out there. Enjoy your hump day … don’t work too hard and GO PACK GO!
