Today, the NFL lost one of its most iconic former members, Pat Summerall at the age of 82.

Summerall played in the NFL for 10 years, before embarking on a remarkable 40 year career in broadcasting, in which he called a record 16 Super Bowls.

Below is a clip of Summerall and John Madden calling the opening of the Green Bay Packers Super Bowl XXXI victory. Listen as Summerall opens the clip – as we get a chance to appreciate the work of a man who devoted his life to calling the game he loved.
