OK, we’re slowly moving toward the end of June, and we’ve been teased by the NFL offseason; we’ve seen players come and go in free agency; we’ve been tantalized by the rookies added to the team through the draft; we’ve watched closely as the Packers have solidified the roster for years to come by re-signing their two biggest stars in Aaron Rodgers and Clay Matthews; and we’ve been trying to remember what the NFL season looks like …
It’s been months since we’ve seen and cheered for the Green and Gold on the football field.
For a few days in May and June the rookies and vets ran the field in helmets and shorts. That was a tease. It’s getting to be time for the real thing. We want bodies colliding, pads slamming into one another, balls flying, running backs squeezing through holes, players sweating and working to earn a job.
But alas, we have to wait … until the end of next month. It seems like a long time, doesn’t it? It really isn’t, but at this point, it’s surely too long.
So, we’ve taken the time to pull together some pictures that will at least tide you over for a bit.
Today we focus on the Packers top defensive player: Clay Matthews III. Hopefully this helps to whet your appetite for what’s to come and satisfies your football need at least for today.
