The tradition of the Green Bay Packers is understood universally, but it also looks like those who have been voting in the nfl.com’s Greatest Uniform in NFL History also understand that the team looks pretty good, too.
If you haven’t visited the contest, get on over there by clicking here and voting. In addition to the Packers, the NFC also features the San Francisco 49ers, the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints in the finals bracket. The winner that comes out of this bracket will go up against one of these AFC teams: Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans (really?), Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens.
There are also two divisions for best throwback uniforms that are featuring the Philadelphia Eagles (1960-63), the Los Angeles Rams (1973-80), Atlanta Falcons (1966-67), and the Carolina Panthers (2012 alternate uniform) in the NFC; and the San Diego Chargers (1961-65), Miami Dolphins (1970-72), Oakland Raiders (1963), and New England Patriots (1984-87).
These three teams, the Cincinnati Benglals, the Denver Broncos throwbacks and the Chicago Bears, are not listed. I think they should be. Call me crazy, but there are a couple of uniforms here (Texans and Seahawks) that don’t belong.
That’s just my opinion … not that I’m a member of the fashion police … those are three teams that I feel should have made it into the finals.
Anyway, this third round of voting continues through tomorrow, Sunday, July 14, so get on over and let your voice be heard.
