Hopefully, we've heard the last from Greg Jennings

I promised myself that I wouldn’t bother you with any more news about the words emanating from Greg Jennings’ mouth – we’re all tired of his bantering and I didn’t want to bore you with it.

But I’ve got to get one more post in – only because Minnesota Vikings Head Coach Leslie Frasier finally entered the discussion and basically told Jennings over the past weekend to shut up and play.

Good God, I thought that nobody would ever stand up in Minnesota and say enough is enough. Though the media has come out in Minnesota saying basically that Jennings was being a spoiled brat and showing no class with his offseason barbs at the Packers and specifically quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Thank goodness both Rodgers and Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy took the high road when asked about Jennings.

Here’s what Rodgers said:

“To me, I’m concerned with the opinions of the guys in this locker room and the guys we have here. It’s exciting to be able to be one of the leaders of this football team, and I’m very confident in my style.”

McCarthy said with a smile on his face that something happened to players when they put the purple on and then went on to say that Jennings was a great player in Green Bay and that he had enjoyed coaching him.

But it was Frasier who finally put an end to things, saying, “We’re the Vikings and we want to talk about us, what we’re trying to get done. That’s where our focus has to be. There’s so much work to be done, and we don’t want to be looking at what’s happening with other teams, other teams’ players. We’ve got to focus on us. He’s good with that.”

Now that it’s done, it’s finally time to move on and enjoy the preseason. It’s time to forget Greg Jennings until the Packers line up against the Vikings in the regular season. Until then, he’s just that guy over in Minnesota.
