While the Packers were dealing Sunday night with the potential that they may be losing Bryan Bulaga, their starting left tackle, to a possible serious knee injury, they are looking at shoring up their quarterback depth by bringing the mercurial and controversial Vince Young in for a Monday morning workout.
According to reports, Young was seen at Austin-Straubel Airport in Green Bay on Sunday, and his workout time was confirmed by the Green Bay Press Gazette.
You might remember Young for his “Dream Team” comments when he was at Philadelphia, but he was most recently in training camp last year with the Buffalo Bills. Young has played in sis NFL seasons, completing 755 of 1,304 passes (57.9 percent) for 8,964 yards, 46 touchdowns and 51 interceptions.
If you watched the Packers’ scrimmage Saturday night, you watched B.J. Coleman throw two interceptions and while Graham Harrell played well enough, it’s clear the Packers are looking for some veteran experience on the team. In Saturday’s action, Harrell completed nine of 12 passes for 88 yards, while Coleman hit nine of 18 completions for 100 yards and the two interceptions.
We’ll keep you updated on the 30-year-old’s workout Monday and notify all our readers should a signing take place.
