The first thing everyone noticed at the Green Bay Packers training camp practice today was that Super Bowl champion, Super Bowl MVP, League MVP and all-around best quarterback in the NFL Aaron Rodgers, was missing.
Heads were scratched, pens put to paper and the question asked.
Head coach Mike McCarthy didn’t waste any time announcing that “Aaron was held from practice due to an illness. We’ll expect him to practice tomorrow.”
Yes, Aaron Rodgers gets sick, too. He is human.
He has a cold. He will get better. We can all stop worrying about the possibility that Graham Harrell would be the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers – or would it be B.J. (I’m the only one who has thrown a TD in preseason) Coleman, or God forbid Vince Young?
No, we don’t have to worry about that fact.
But it does raise another legitimate question: When WILL the Packers announce who will be their backup quarterback. Will it come next week after the Packers’ third preseason game or will it come after the final game in the final week of camp?
McCarthy holds the answer to that question and hasn’t tipped his hand.
That is a question for which we all await.
In the meantime, we extend our get well wishes to Aaron.
Don’t scare us like that again!
