Desmond Bishop’s Super Bowl jersey stolen

I feel bad for Desmond Bishop – remember him? He’s the former Green Bay Packer linebacker who told everyone he wanted to be the defensive player of the year with his old team.

That was before the Packers let Bishop walked.

Bishop was always a good guy – even when his walk took him over to the Minnesota Vikings. However, unlike his former and newest teammate in Minnesota, Greg Jennings, Bishop wasn’t afflicted with that dreaded diarrhea of the mouth. He has nothing bad to say for his former team. I’m glad that the wearing of the purple hasn’t made him do the strange things that Jennings has done.

That’s why I felt bad for him today when the news broke about his house being broken into and the stealing of his Super Bowl jersey. That’s just plain sick.

Someone, somewhere is sitting in their parents’ basement playing video games and rocking the Bishop jersey. I hope they’re feeling the guilt.

Whether that’s the case or not, the simple fact that some people are just plain stupid is really disconcerting.

Here’s what Biship tweeted after he learned of the break-in:

Our hope is that his jersey turns up somewhere and some time. He deserves better than that.
