“This is what we expect. This is how good he is … He’s a tier above the elites in all of our eyes”
Aaron Rodgers dished out 480 yards and four touchdowns on 34-of-42 passing attempts. With a 146 quarterback rating, he had the best performance of an NFL quarterback this season.
This is an inside look at how Rodgers dismantled the Redskins defense.
With the success Green Bay had in the run game, the Redskins were forced to pull an extra safety into the box. When a defense does this, it closes up the middle of the field, but opens up the outside for the quarterback. Rodgers mowed down the Redskins with pass plays outside the hashmarks.
It also doesn’t hurt to have those playmakers dominate the yards-after-catch category either. The Packers had 283 yards after the catch Sunday, the best of any NFL team for the past six seasons.
If the Packers can maintain a strong run game, expect to see more games like this from Rodgers.
After all, it’s what not only Cobb and his teammates expect – it’s what we all expect.
