Yesterday, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Greg Jennings was alleged to have signed an autograph on a helmet for a Vikings fan who presented to him over the weekend … a nice gesture by the former Green Bay Packer.
However, controversy erupted across the Inter Web when a picture of the autographed Vikings helmet included not only his “John Hancock” but an inscription of “Packers Suck” that, according to the fan who posted the picture, was written by Jennings.
When asked about the inscription today by Ben Goessling, the ESPN reporter covering the Vikings, Jennings didn’t deny the allegation. Here’s the tweet Goessling left on his account earlier today:
Greg Jennings said he wasn’t getting into the “Packers suck” autograph. Didn’t say it was false when asked, though.

While it’s still an allegation, his refusal to address the issue makes one wonder why. If he had nothing to do with the incident, one would think he would denied it and put it all behind him. But he didn’t, leaving the impression that he may have indeed done it.
So it only continues to fan the flames of an already hot rivalry and if left unresolved should bring about an interesting meeting when the Packers play the Vikings in October.
We won’t have to guess what kind of reception Jennings will get when he visits Lambeau Field.
But we do know that there won’t be many Packers fans asking for his autograph.
