Cleveland Browns’ Joe Thomas to Green Bay Packers?

Sounds crazy, right?!?

Green Bay Packers fans are well aware of GM Ted Thompson‘s aversion to anything other than “draft and develop,” but the word out of Cleveland Browns territory is that every player on the roster may be up for grabs.

According to Mike Silver of the NFL Network in an interview regarding the Browns’ recent trade of running back Trent Richardson, Browns’ offensive tackle Joe Thomas reportedly said:

Hey, we are all on the trading block.”

If that is the case and the Browns are having a fire sale, a left tackle of the caliber of former Wisconsin Badger Joe Thomas would be a great addition to the Packers.

He is in his seventh year in the NFL and only 28. He is one of the premier left tackles in the league and has a number of good years left in him. Even if the Packers give up next year’s first round draft choice for him, such a choice would likely be in the high twenties and not of more value than a player like Thomas.

He would provide stability on quarterback Aaron Rodgers‘s blind side and allow current left tackle Bryan Bulaga to move back to the right side and instantly strengthen the Packers OL.

While we do not know what is going on in Thompson’s mind, a trade consideration for a player such as Thomas would make for interesting discussion inside the Packers’ front office.

No one in their right mind would trade a building block like Joe Thomas. Totally insane. Never happen.

I understand!! That would make perfect sence. Why would the players not believe that. To keep dismantling the team at the beginning of a season it’s hard to have any faith in anybody in management & ownership. As good as some of the players are that are left , they must feel each time they are on the field it’s a tryout for any other time. Notifications will be heard on the local radio channels. Management doesn’t care about the team or the fans. They are there to feed their egos Still hope to make sence of the trade & hope they find a quarterback that can stay long enough to be a proven winner so we can get a second round draft pick & a player to be named later when shows he’s worthy of winning & we will keep the trading of our proven players to existing teams that are in need. I will keep rooting for the Browns no matter what , but will be rooting for the quality players that get shipped out to winners. Good luck & the best of luck on your tryout for other teams the rest of the year (if it takes that long ). GO BROWNS ???
