Packers vs. Lions Q&A

1) The Lions are off to a 3-1 start and are currently leading the division. What do they need to do going forward to continue this progress?

They have to keep making plays on defense and they have to remain balanced on offense. The reason the Lions struggled so much last year is that their defense wasn’t coming up with turnovers and the Lions didn’t do much offensive except throw the ball around the field. That has changed this year and the results have changed as well.

2) The acquisition of Reggie Bush in the offseason seems to be really paying off. What does he bring to this offense that they haven’t had previously?

A true home run threat. When the ball gets in Reggie’s hands, he’s a threat to take it to the house. That is what they were hoping for in Jahvid Best and it worked OK until the concussion issues took over.

3) Calvin Johnson Jr. has been arguably the best receiver in the league for some time now. If you’re playing against him, how do you stop him? You have to double him every snap. The key with Reggie Bush in the offense is that stopping Calvin hasn’t been enough. He was relatively quiet in the two home wins over the Vikings and Bears but Bush was such a force that the Lions’ offense was rolling anyway.
