Former Green Bay Packers receiver James Lofton will make a short appearance on Showtime’s INSIDE THE NFL tonight, talking about some of his experiences at Lambeau Field, as well as giving a short spiel on the situation with Aaron Rodgers‘ injury.
Lofton, the Hall of Famer who spent his first nine years in the league in Green Bay, was not only asked about the current state of affairs with the Packers, but also described playing at Lambeau Field, saying that “if you are a sports junkie and you wanted to attend a baseball game, you go to Yankee Stadium. If you’re a basketball fan, you go to the old Boston Garden. If you are a football fan, your Mecca, the place where you want to go see one game, it has to be Lambeau Field. And it would have to be on a cool, crisp evening … it was such a great field to play on.”
He also described playing in the snow at Lambeau, specifically calling out the “Snow Bowl” against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when there was so much snow on the field that “before the game they had a hard time getting the tarp off the field. The Buccaneers thought the game would be cancelled.”
