The Green Bay Packers announced this afternoon that they activated safety Sean Richardson and defensive lineman Jerel Worthy from the physically unable to perform list and placed cornerback Casey Hayward and Cornerback James Nixon on injured reserve.
Most are hoping that Richardson and Worthy will bolster the team’s roster, especially in light of the recent injuries suffered on the defensive side of the ball.
Richardson, who has been out for nearly two years with a neck injury, will come back on the active roster with Worthy who has been out with a knee injury for the past 11 months.
Hayward was out twice this season with a hamstring injury and aggravated it against the Philadelphia Eagles two weeks ago. Nixon also recently injured his knee a week or so ago.
The Packers host the Minnesota Vikings Sunday in an NFC North Division matchup at Lambeau Field. The 5-5 Packers have lost three in a row, two of this losses coming at home. The Packers haven’t lost three in a row since 1991.
