Packers should SIT Aaron Rodgers - keep 'Flynning'

*Disclaimer* No one more than me wants to see Green Bay Packers Nation’s most beloved, Aaron Rodgers, return this Sunday BUT for practical purposes I must go on!

If you are already reading past the title and disclaimer, then I appreciate your dedication to my persuasion for the Packers to keep Flynning.

Yes, I know that the Packers postseason hopes hang in the balance. Let’s not be hasty in acknowledging that they have been on the line for several weeks before now. The Packers have risen to the challenge. A hard-fought win over an Atlanta team trying to play spoiler and a comeback win over a possible playoff team in Dallas have made this team more edgy. And they have done it with a guy almost two years removed from the team and signed back only five weeks ago.

Matt Flynn is no Aaron Rodgers, but he is enough to beat a past-their-prime Pittsburgh team. The Packers should throw all their arsenal out to him for this game. A win over Pittsburgh would mean a “win and you’re in-game” at Chicago.

Another road start should not be in the works for Flynn. His slow starts away from Lambeau would be too much for Green Bay more than likely to overcome in a very hostile environment and with the season the line.

So one more week for Flynn.

Give Aaron another week to get healthier and to wrap his mind around returning to beat the rival Bears. Coupled with the satisfaction of beating the team that put Green Bay in such a tough predicament in the first place.

NOTE: Mike McCarthy is scheduled to announce Aaron Rodgers’ status for this weekend at about 12:25 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 20
