Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes things just fall your way – but for our own Dan Dahlke, a writer with more talent in his pinky than many of us around him – luck shouldn’t even be considered.
You see, Dahlke has spent the past couple of months putting together a continuing series of Q&A posts that are currently being posted here on Lombardiave.com – a task that has not gone unnoticed.
This has been a labor of love by Dahlke, and it shows. But more importantly, it’s being recognized by those in the know.
In fact, Mike Huguenin, the College Football 24/7 writer on nfl.com, wrote an entire post based off Dahlke’s Q&A with defensive lineman Stephon Tuitt published here this past week.
That’s not only just a large recognition for our site, but it’s a credit to Dahlke, who’s work on this series and his continued work on the site is nothing short of exemplary. Dan has stood out recently as our go-to guy for draft information. In fact, he’s not only excelled in pulling together some of the best draft posts one can find anywhere, but his work with the Q&A series is both a determined effort and one worth reading.
Huguenin thought so, too.
And before you run off to check out what Dahlke’s piece is all about, I want to quickly describe how this has all come about.
Dahlke emailed me a couple of months ago saying he had an idea. His idea quickly turned into action as he sought out contact information for many of the top draft prospects, sent out a plethora of emails, and sat back with the hope that a couple may get back to him.
What transpired was beyond belief. The first to respond was none other than Michael Sam, who completed his Q&A and sent it back to Dahlke.
The response beyond Sam was surprising to both of us as player-after-player responded. In fact, Dahlke has been working his butt off the past month in prepping each of the prospects’ upcoming profiles.
It’s great to see that Dahlke’s work is making its way around the Internet and that others are reading his work and using it as a source for their own work – that’s the ultimate compliment.
We congratulate our talented writer and encourage everyone else to do so … Oh, and by the way … stop back to lombardiave each and every day to see which prospect will be featured. We will have many more prospect profiles coming up over the next few weeks as we all prepare for the upcoming draft in May.
