Notre Dame tight end Troy Niklas is catching a lot of attention at the NFL Combine this season and will be working out early this afternoon (live on NFL Network) – check him out and then don’t forget to stop back hereon Monday and check out the Q&A he recently completed with us here at Lombardiave.
Not only will he admit to being a relative through marriage with Clay Matthews, but Niklas will talk about his career at Notre Dame and why he would love playing for the Green Bay Packers.
While Niklas has been somewhat of a second thought in the tight end discussion behind Eric Ebron and Trace Amaro, he is one of those players who might move up the draft boards for many teams after his workout today.
And while you’ll be able to watch him live at the combine today, what you’ll find through his Q&A here at Lombardiave on Monday is a personable Southern California guy who actually started his career at Notre Dame as a linebacker and then made the switch to tight end … a position at which he has excelled. He also talks about what he will be working on between now and the Draft, the strengths that set him apart from other players, and how he will react if he’s drafted by the Green Bay Packers.
Niklas’s Q&A is just one of dozens that we are publishing here at Lombardiave. Our staff writer and draft guru, Dan Dahlke, has spent the past two months putting together these interviews. Many of the interviews were through email exchanges, but many of them were also completed through personal phone calls to the prospects.
We kicked off our interviews with none other than SEC Defensive Player of the Year and recent media phenom Michael Sam and have included prospect interviews each week. Just this past week we have published Q&As with Victor Hampton, Christian Kirksey, and Brandon Coleman.
In addition, Dahlke recently published an in-depth interview with NFL Draft scout Tony Pauline … something that every fan interested in the draft should take a look at …
But as you spend some time watching Notre Dame tight end Troy Niklas today, don’t forget to stop back here on Monday for his Q&A …
That’s just a part of our continuing Draft coverage here at Lombardiave and how it all affects the Green Bay Packers.
